John Forster
John has been working as a potter in the workshop at his home in Horsley since 1981.
He enjoys the challenge of creating well-designed pots for the home and kitchen.
Functionality is a priority in the design and durability of the pots.
He was a member of the team of makers at Winchcombe Pottery from 2012 t0 2020.
The work is informed by the long tradition of English slipware, and by the work of Michael
Cardew. Also by Oriental wood-fired reduced stoneware.
A visit to Crete provided new inspiration in the shapes and styles of the Minoan pottery in
Heraklion Museum.
